Chebeague Island InnThis old inn was repaired and improved. The landscaping needed serious upgrading.
Challenges particular to this historic building and site were to separate visitor and delivery vehicles and at the same time ensure accessibly without harming the feeling of the island surrounds. In order to offset the addition of vehicle pathways and widened pedestrian walkways, large perennial beds were designed and installed throughout the site. Bollard lights were used to reduce light pollution but provide safety and enhance the grounds. Along with placing wooden benches throughout the property, shrubs and trees were planted to maintain the island feel. |
