Hyde Learning CenterIn the built-up environment of Bath, Maine, this project maintains the rural campus character of Hyde School.
The ultimate challenge of the project was siting the building with the least land disturbance on this very steep terrain. The intent and result was to minimize the impact on existing landscape surrounds. Since the property contained large boulders, those and others were used to provide seating areas. At each decision point minimal disturbance was the guide. The effect was a successful blend of building, land and hardscaping. |
